Born on February 6, 1945, in Nine Mile, Jamaica, Marley rose to fame in the 1970s with his band, The Wailers. His music is characterized by its blend of reggae rhythms, rock influences, and socially conscious lyrics that address themes of love, peace, and resistance.
Some of his most iconic songs include "No Woman, No Cry," "One Love," "Redemption Song," and "Three Little Birds." Marley's work has transcended cultural boundaries, promoting messages of unity and hope, and he played a significant role in bringing reggae music to a global audience.
Marley was not only a musical innovator but also a cultural icon, known for his Rastafarian beliefs and advocacy for social justice. He passed away on May 11, 1981, but his legacy continues to inspire artists and fans around the world, making him a timeless symbol of peace and love.
